The cabin is named for our MewMaw, [her first name if you'd like], the heart of our family for generations. She believed nobody should ever leave her place hungry, bored, or feeling like a stranger — and we've tried to build every stay around that same welcome. She helped clear, build, and run this property. MeMaw is now retired and using the rental money for retirement. We take care of our guests the way she taught us: cabins cleaned like company's coming, honest answers about river conditions and local tips, and quick help if you need anything during your stay. The cabin comfortably sleeps 4–5 guests, making it just right for a small family or two couples traveling together. Inside you'll find a full kitchen with everything you need to cook a real meal — stove, refrigerator, cookware, and dishes — plus 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and air-conditioned comfort for those warm Texas days. The real living happens outside. Pour your morning coffee and settle onto the covered porch, where deer often wander past at dawn. In the evening, fire up the BBQ grill, then gather around the fire pit under a sky absolutely packed with stars — out here, far from city lights, the Milky Way makes regular appearances. And yes — MewMaw's is pet-friendly with a fenced-in yard. Your four-legged family members are welcome to come sniff every cedar tree on the property. You'll be minutes from the Medina River, where tubing, kayaking, and swimming are summer traditions, and a short drive from Bandera, the official Cowboy Capital of the World. MewMaw's Cabin sits in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, just outside Bandera — the official Cowboy Capital of the World. This is real Texas: cedar-covered hills, spring-fed rivers, longhorns behind ranch fences, and small towns where people still wave at strangers. The Medina River is the star of the neighborhood. Cool, clear, and cypress-lined, it's beloved for tubing, kayaking, swimming, and lazy afternoons on the water. Several local outfitters offer tube and kayak rentals with drop-off and pick-up service, so floating the river couldn't be easier. The Guadalupe River, another Hill Country favorite, is within easy driving distance. In Bandera (15 minutes away), you'll find honky-tonks with live country music, cowboy churches, dude ranches offering horseback rides, and homestyle Texas cooking. Don't miss the 11th Street Cowboy Bar, or catch the rodeo when it's in season. The tiny town of Medina, known as the Apple Capital of Texas, is worth the drive for apple pie and cider alone.
