Our adventure began in 2010 when we—Maja and Michael Waring—first set foot in Denali National Park. Like many drawn to Alaska’s untamed beauty, we started as seasonal employees. By 2013, we knew Denali wasn’t just a stop—it was home. In 2015, we launched a humble food truck, bringing late-night eats to Healy. This venture thrived, leading us to open a second location in Kona, Hawaii. As our vision expanded, we introduced Moose-AKa’s Eastern European Restaurant, which climbed the national rankings, earning TripAdvisor’s #5 restaurant in the U.S. in 2023. True entrepreneurs never stop dreaming. We wanted to take everything we’d learned—service, attention to detail, and hospitality—and create something even more unforgettable.
