Company info

While living out in Laguna Niguel, California, Brian and Charlie loved to take weekend trips over to Catalina Island. They usually stayed at the Inn on Mount Ada. Early in 2013, when Brian was about finished with the corporate world, the idea dawned about owning an Inn while staying at Mount Ada. “We like having people over and I enjoy cooking” is how the conversation went. That weekend eventually led to Brian quitting his career, flying with Charlie to Kennebunkport, ME to attend a seminar about innkeeping and then spending the next 9 months searching the country for the right Inn. After traveling the States, considering many different inns, doing our homework, the decision came down to just 3 inns – one on the coast of Oregon, one in the Berkshires and the Old Manse! Guess which one won?! During the moving trip across the USA from California to Massachusetts, Brian and Charlie got engaged and were married in October, 2016 up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was a perfect Autumn Day on Lake Winnipesaukee with family & friends. Having owned the Old Manse now for a few years, they continue to make the renovations that will make the guest experience better each year, hoping to leave a legacy of happy memories for every guest that stays!

Property info

Welcome to the Old Manse Inn. Of the many Cape Cod bed and breakfasts, our B&B is a romantic antique sea captains manor located in the heart of historic Brewster, MA, Cape Cod – the “Sea Captain’s town”. Built in 1801, the Old Manse Inn has been home to generations of legendary seafarers. We offer twelve (12) deluxe luxury rooms, individually decorated and preserved, each with private bath. Enjoy a multi-course gourmet breakfast each morning in our Cape Cod-styled, sun-filled fireside dining room. Relax in one of our three distinct common areas, uncommon to most inns in Brewster and on Cape Cod. Take advantage of our ideal Brewster lodging location, just a short stroll to the Cape Cod Bay beaches. Located right in the middle of Cape Cod, we are just 45 minutes driving from the Canal bridges to the west and Provincetown to the north & east.

Neighborhood info

Brewster, Massachusetts, is a quaint coastal town in Barnstable County on Cape Cod with a rich history. Settled in 1656, it's home to public beaches along Cape Cod Bay, parks, historic structures, unique shops, and a lot of culinary talent. Brewster was named in honor of Elder William Brewster, the first religious leader of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony. The town's history grew around Stony Brook, where the first water-powered grist and woolen mill in the country was founded in the late 17th century.
