R&B Bed and Breakfast got its name from its original owners, brother and sister Rita & Bil. Bil, a longtime local music club owner, saw an opportunity to combine his love of historic properties, antiques, Frenchmen Street, and New Orleans culture into something special, while his sister fulfilled a dream of designing and running a bed and breakfast. Rita served as the first innkeeper, welcoming the first five years of guests before the extended family took the day-to-day reins. What started as a family investment and adventure over a decade ago has now become a beloved home-away-from-home for travelers from all over the world. Today, the inn is lovingly run by their nephew and niece, Joe & Kristi, along with other members of the family. As hands-on innkeepers, they truly enjoy helping guests experience New Orleans beyond the typical tourist version of the city. Whether it’s sharing favorite local restaurants, pointing guests toward hidden music gems on Frenchmen Street, or simply swapping stories in the parlor or courtyard, creating meaningful connections is one of their favorite parts of hosting. What we love most about this work is seeing strangers arrive from different corners of the world as guests and leave feeling like part of the R&B family. We believe the best travel experiences are not just about where you sleep, but how a place makes you feel. When we’re not hosting, we enjoy family life, playing and watching sports, live music, local food, laughing together, serving our community, gardening in the courtyard, and all the little moments that make New Orleans the absolute gem that it is.
