We are a family owned and operated business with 22 years in the lodging industry in Ruidoso. We own 2 Lodges in the Upper Canyon of Ruidoso. We purchased Shadow Mountain Lodge in 2012 and immediately upgraded all the rooms with new mountain decor and bedding, large flat screen TV's and memory foam mattress toppers. We have upgraded furniture and lighting and are continuously on top of maintenance. We purchased our 2nd Lodge, Upper Canyon Inn in 2015 and completed major renovations turning the entire Lodge into romantic 2 person lounging whirlpool suites with fireplaces and all the amenities we've been known for. Moving to Ruidoso has been the best decision we have ever made and we were thrilled that our kids decided to follow in our footsteps. We are family owned and operated and service is the key to keeping our properties so successful. We enjoy each and every day and continuously strive to improve.

Shadow Mountain Lodge is the first Lodge located in the historic Upper Canyon of Ruidoso, so it is the closest to all the Mid-town shops, galleries and restaurants, but surrounded by forest in a quite mountain setting. The Lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and landscaping with a huge covered porch and comfy chairs to relax and watch the deer and wild horses roaming through the property. The occasional elk and black bear can be seen, but hummingbirds are the hi-lite during warmer months. The large garden has gazebo with a sitting area and fire table that lights up each evening at dusk. It is a great place to relax and have a glass of wine before turning in for the night. There is also a BBQ grilling area with seating in the garden area for those nights you don't feel like going out. What can I say... we have the perfect location along with views and all the amenities one could want for that perfect getaway. Fireplaces, kitchens, king beds with memory foam, reclining love seats, streaming services, pet friendly rooms, commercial ice machine, laundry and much more!!!

Shadow Mountain Lodge is located in the historic Upper Canyon area of Ruidoso, which has always been the preferred area to stay. The Upper Canyon is surrounded by 100' Ponderosa Pine Trees and the Lincoln National Forest, but is only a short walk to Ruidoso's Mid-town Shops, Galleries and Restaurants. The Rio Ruidoso river runs through the Canyon and is a great spot for trout fishing in the warmer months. The canyon is home to many wildlife including deer, elk, hummingbirds and the occasional black bear. You can hike many trails without the hassle of driving to the starting location, and when your back after an adventurous day come soak in the outdoor hot tub. During the summer months the Upper Canyon becomes home to thousands of hummingbirds. Shadow Mountain Lodge has hummingbird feeders in front of each Lodge room and Cabin with about 7 different species being spotted each year. These guys are so abundant that often the feeders have to be re-filled every single day. Many of our guests spend the whole day relaxing on the covered porches just watching the many Hummingbirds fluttering and diving in and out as they try to secure their place in the pecking order.
