Hello and welcome! I’m Clementina, your host at Sleeping Sailor. I’m originally from Italy and have been living in Maine since 2011. Hospitality, creativity, and design have always been a big part of my life, and Sleeping Sailor is a very personal project for me. Rather than a space created purely as a rental, this is truly my pied-à-terre in Camden — a real living space that I’ve chosen to share with guests when I’m away. Downstairs, you’ll find Paper Plane, my cocktail lounge, while upstairs is the apartment I designed to reflect the things I personally love most: natural light, cozy textures, books, thoughtful details, music, and a calm atmosphere after a day exploring the coast of Maine. I love travel, storytelling, photography, cocktails, and creating spaces that feel warm, authentic, and inspiring. My hope is that when you stay here, you feel less like you are in a standard accommodation and more like you are staying in the home of a friend who loves Camden deeply. Everything around you is walkable — the harbor, cafés, restaurants, bookstores, galleries, and little hidden corners that make this town so special. While centrally located, the house sits slightly away from the busiest stretch of Main Street, offering a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere while still being moments from everything. One of the few remaining small historic homes from the late 1800s in downtown Camden, Sleeping Sailor blends charm, character, and convenience. Walk to the waterfront in seconds, grab coffee around the corner, enjoy dinner and cocktails nearby, or simply explore the beauty of Camden on foot. The neighborhood is vibrant yet intimate, with a mix of coastal Maine charm, creative energy, and everyday local life.
