809 Umdloti Resort is a top floor apartment in every way! From the "eagles nest", the main bedroom commands endless views of the ocean, just laze in bed and watch the whales and dolphins play. Umdloti Resort is situated right on the beach in Umdloti. The apartment block has a pool deck with two large swimming pools and a kiddies pool. Directly adjacent and below is a large braai area with seating and views out over the entrance to Umdloti and the sea. You can walk downstairs directly into the foyer, where you will find the very smart Nikolas Michael hairdressing salon, Manta Cafe (coffee shop), and two of KZN's finest restaurants, Bel Punto and Mundo Vida. Follow the stairway down from there and walk over the road to a beautiful sandy beach. In the commercial centre below, you will also find a gift shop, hardware store, various takeaways, and a liquor outlet. Apply the 10-minute rule. It is only 10 minutes from King Shaka International Airport, Gateway Theatre of Shopping and Ballito Junction. POSITION The apartment is situated right on the beachfront of Umdloti, a mere 9 kilometers from Durban International Airport and 10 minutes to Ballito Bay in the north and Gateway Shopping Centre in the south. The port city of Durban is 20 kilometers to the south. Umdloti is within easy access to a number of big five game reserves both to the north (Hluhluwe-Umfolozi National Park, Tembe Elephant Park and many private game reserves) and west (Nambiti being one of the best known) plus the World Heritage Sites of the beautiful iSimangaliso (St Lucia) Wetland Park in the north. To the west are the majestic uKhlahlamba (Drakensberg) mountains. As such, Umdloti is an ideal springboard to explore this remarkable Province of KwaZulu-Natal. LOCAL RESTAURANTS Umdloti boasts four world-class fine dining restaurants, Bel Punto, Mundo Vida, Tight Lines and Casa Nostra Umdloti. Bel Punto and Mundo Vida are both situated right on the beach directly below the apartment in the Umdloti Beach Center. Also directly below is The Bush Tavern (the friendly local bar and restaurant) and Manta Cafe (a bright open beach style coffee shop). One kilometer north along the beach from the apartment and directly opposite the Umdloti Tidal Pool is The Sand Bar, Tasca Pizza, and Foam. The Sand Bar oozes local laidback chic with memorable sundowner cocktails and great food. Tasca Pizza is a local icon that has been here forever and serves absolutely the best pizzas in town. Foam is a coffee shop with a very interesting and diverse selection of breakfast and lunch offerings. LOCAL SHOPPING CENTER The new Salta Sibaya Marine Walk Shopping Center is right at the entrance to Umdloti, so only a few hundred meters up the road from the apartment. The shopping center itself comprises a mix of the major branded shops (Spar, Woolworths and Dischem), great restaurants, coffee shops, and a vibey Irish Pub.
