Our guesthouse is named after our mother Anne Jacobs. Hebrew Meaning: The name Anne is a Hebrew name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Anne is: Favour or grace. Prayer. God has favoured me. People with this name have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community and a need to work with others and to be appreciated. We try to live up to our name by providing our guests with luxury accommodation and everything they need to make their stay comfortable and memorable. Our guests become part of our loving family and we strive to provide them with a home away from home. Anne’s Place is a Family-owned guesthouse and we treat our guests like family. We first opened our doors to guests in September 2010 during the Aardklop festival. Renet converted her mother’s cottage with the help of a friend, Annelise from Decoture, into a welcoming, modern guest house. Originally the guest house consisted of the Cottage with two rooms. Due to growing interest and public demand we later added the Duplex Family suite and the Luxury Family room.
I am a Mathematics Lecturer, Accountant, Entrepreneur (owner of guest houses), Wife, Mother of six children and a Grandmother-to-be! We have owned and managed two guesthouses since 2010 - Anne's Place in Potchefstroom and Fynbos Feniks in Stellenbosch. I take great pride in providing a good service and making our guests feel comfortable and at home. Another passion I have in life is teaching first year students at the NWU whom I lecture in Mathematics. I have a special inclination towards students, especially the Engineering students.
Anne's Place is situated in Mozart Ave, van der Hoffpark, Potchefstroom. Van der Hoffpark is an upmarket suburb in the beautiful city of Potchefstroom. The gardens in this neighbourhood are well kept and our guests can enjoy strolling or jogging in our streets. Potchefstroom situated approximately 120 km west-south west of Johannesburg. It is an academic city in the North West Province of South Africa. It hosts the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. It is also situated on the banks of the Mooi River - Afrikaans for “beautiful river”. Anne's Place is about a 5 km drive from the North-West University.
