Hey! Our names are Taryn and Chad and we are excited to be your host. We are new to this industry and have recently flipped a very old house to become a beautiful ocean view property. We are a fun, loving couple and new parents. We love to keep ourselves busy by juggle a few businesses as well as a baby.

The Bluff offers a more laid-back, natural feel compared to Durban’s busier beachfront areas. It’s ideal for outdoor and water-sport lovers: surfing, swimming, diving, fishing, and nature walks are all accessible.  For history buffs, the old whaling station is a poignant link to the area’s maritime past. Because of its quieter residential character and green spaces, it’s a popular spot for both locals and visitors seeking respite from the city. Beaches: The Bluff has several beaches — Ansteys Beach is very popular, especially for surfing and bodyboarding.  Rock Pools & Surf Spots: Brighton Beach (near the famous “Cave Rock”) is well-known for its surf breaks and tidal rock pools.  Bluff Nature Reserve: A 45-hectare conservation area managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. It has forested patches, a pan (wetland), bird-watching hides, and a self-guided trail.  Golf: The Bluff is home to an 18-hole golf course, offering a scenic round with coastal views.  Historical Whaling Station: There’s a historic whaling station on the bluff; while not fully operational, it’s a reminder of the area’s whaling past.  Whale & Dolphin Watching: From the Bluff, you can join tours (especially in winter) to spot whales, and dolphins are common year-round.
