Located in central Umhlanga Rocks, Chartwell Guest House offers stylish suites with garden or sea views. Property info

We are an eco-friendly guest house in Umhlanga Rocks. We heat our water with heat pumps instead of geysers. Our garden is mostly indigenous. Our food is free range and organic where possible. We harvest rain water for irrigating the garden and filling the pool. We have one wheelchair friendly room with access ramps, a drive in shower and a grab rails.

Neighborhood info

Umhlanga Rocks is a relaxed, fun, cosmopolitan coastal town situated very close to the new King Shaka International Airport. Many people compare Umhlanga to the Australian Gold Coast. Our beaches are superb and the weather is excellent the whole year round thanks to the warm Indian Ocean that keeps our winters very mild. Chartwell Guest House is within walking distance of the Umhlanga beaches and the famous Umhlanga Village, where you will be spoilt for choice amongst the many bars, restaurants & shops. The warm Indian Ocean keeps our winters very mild. There is plenty for the kids to do: Gateway Shopping Centre has plenty of fun activities for the kids - both indoor and outdoor, from 4D theatres and 10 pin bowling to surfing the Flow Rider and Supertubes. Culturally, we have many markets selling locally produced clothing and food and we often have excellent local bands performing at our many parks where you can bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the local cuisine in the sun. Umhlanga is a very safe neighbourhood relative to the rest of South Africa and Chartwell Guest House has top of the range security, including electric fences, high walls, armed response and a street patrol.
