Evergreen Cabin is built from trees planted from seed, by us, on the farm. It overlooks the wonderful Karkloof Valley in the front and has thick protected indigenous bush out the back. It is a safe and secure area with birds and wildlife for company. Evergreens sister cabin, Old Pine Cabin, makes it an ideal retreat should two families want to meet at one spot, yet have there own space.
I am a stained glass artist with a love for historic buildings and churches and the restoration and preservation thereof.
Evergreen is situated 8 kms from the Karkloof Polo Club, which hosts both International and SA polo during the winter months. From the club, are also mountain biking trials through Sappi's forests, voted the best mountain biking trails in South Africa. Enjoy a coffee and hearty breakfast at the club before setting off. Karkloof Canopy Tours are also on the doorstep, where you can zip line over the forest canopy. The Karkloof is primarily a farming community, with star gazing being on the agenda for "a night out". Visit the Karkloof Conservation Centre for picnics, walks and bird hides for a day out.
