PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AIRCONS ARE PROVIDED FOR COOLING THE HOUSES IN THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS BETWEEN OCTOBER AND APRIL, NOT FOR HEATING. Electric blankets, blankets, duvets, hot water bottles are provided and each house has a fireplace. Graaff-Reinet is one of the oldest towns in South Africa and among the most beautiful. There is a strong Cape Dutch architectural influence and the wide streets are lined with jacaranda and flamboyant trees. There are charming restaurants, museums and cafes, antique shops, spas, a bookshop, deli, and other local businesses, as well as larger country-wide chains for clothing, grocery and equipment purchases. The town is surrounded largely by national park, farms and private game reserves. Our museums, art galleries and the Camdeboo National Park, along with the world famous Valley of Desolation, ought firmly to be on your to-do list
