We provide an eclectic, peaceful place to stay where couples can enjoy the ultimate romantic, country getaway in the quaint village of Clarens. Couples can spend quality time together, in their uniquely decorated rooms or under the oak trees in the tranquil garden, to reconnect with each other, without any distractions. Our hospitality, personal service and attention to detail will ensure a romantic rendezvous to remember! Gypsy Guest House Clarens is a place where tumultuous colour, quirkiness and creativity abound. Clarens is a small town, just 3.5 hours from Joburg, situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains. The town is best known for its art galleries, variety of restaurants and eateries, scenic views, walking trails and it is in close proximity to Golden Gate and the Drakensberg. THERE IS A BOREHOLE ON THE PROPERTY, INSURING THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE WATER. Accommodation comprises of 3 separate, luxury self-catering units, each with their own entrance. On-site facilities include an exotic, social outdoor Gypsy Lounge with braai area. There is free Wi-Fi, a large garden, and secure parking. We have loved this beautiful village of Clarens since our first visit over 15 years ago. We (Sandy, Shane AND MURPHY) love sharing our favorite local places with our guests. It is great to meet amazing and fascinating people from all over the world. We provide a friendly, tranquil, happy place for our guests to relax and recharge. We love all things Gypsy Life! Our Gypsy Haven is our Happy Place!

If you want to experience the true peace of the Clarens - that we love, take a walk into the beautiful natural surrounds. Paths lead directly from our property, and cater for all fitness levels. To truly experience Clarens’ charm pack a picnic lunch and head out to the Kloof dam. Only a 10 minute walk and well worth it. The perfect place to swim and cool off in summer. Bushman paintings adorn many a caves in these parts. Take a stroll around our village square to marvel at the unique and interesting novelty shops. There are a number of wonderful restaurants and pubs to choose from. For the best white water rafting experience available anywhere in South Africa you have to try the Ash River. Up to Grade 4 rapids on one of the top 10 cleanest rivers in the world.
