The Kookfontein farm is situated just off the R364 only 5km outside of Lambert’s Bay on the West Coast. The working farm has belonged to the Engelbrecht family for over two centuries. The cottages look out over the vineyard from which Kookfontein Sauvignon Blanc is made. The affordable self-catering farm cottages are comfortable and clean with all linen and towels provided. Both cottages have open-plan living areas with fully equipped kitchens and an outdoor braai area. The cottages are close enough to the homestead to be very safe but still enjoy a fair amount of privacy.

The unpretentious, picturesque seaside village of Lambert’s Bay lies right up the West Coast, not far from Clanwilliam and only 2.5 hours’ drive from Cape Town. The coast town has been proclaimed 'the Diamond of the West Coast' because of its white beaches, wildlife and lobsters. Although primarily a fishing town it has become a significant tourist attraction on the West Coast due to its moderate all-year climate. The proximity to the sea and sand offers plenty for visitors to do. You can sandboard on the dunes, go on a guided quadbike trip or even a microlight flight over the bay, when you’re not partaking in the usual water sports like swimming, surfing and sunbathing. Lambert's Bay is also jam-packed with plentiful birdlife. Some of the more popular species on the list include gannets and Cormorants. Dolphins, whales and the ever entertaining seals at the internationally acclaimed Bird Island attract tourist from all over. Heavyside dolphins are frequently spotted from the beach. Lambert's Bay is also a great place to view the lush stretches of wild field flowers that are most beautiful during spring.
