Company info

Chris Moon is the owner's son and is managing Millgate along with his partner, Ilonka (who also runs the onsite Bistro and Bakery - Shazorro). Chris is an accomplished freelance cartoonist and illustrator.

Property info

Within five acres, Millgate's three guest cottages and three guest suites welcome the weary city-dweller to stress-free country-style living. Wander through our lovely gardens or climb up into our forest to the sound of birdsong. Attractions include a nine-hole putt-putt course, a bistro specialising in German fusion cuisine and onsite baking of Danish pastries, pies, breads and specialised German delicacies There is also an onsite gift/craft shop and art gallery. Millgate Cottage accepts one night booking except during, or adjacent to, public holidays and the Christmas period.

Neighborhood info

The KwaZulu Natal Midlands are nestled in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains. Rolling green hills and valleys feature vegetation ranging from indigenous mist-belt forest to grasslands and managed forestry and farmlands intersected with tumbling streams and waterfalls. The climate is temperate, warm to hot in the summer rainy season, can be chilly in winter with the occasional snow but mainly mild and dry.
