The rooms were very nice and clean. The beds were excellent and so were the pillows. Staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was brilliant. We also had dinner and that was lovely. Our main reason for staying over was to play golf and a halfway house on route to Umhlanga

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Beautiful views from the restaurant. The fireplace in the room was awesome and the fact that wood and kindling were provided every evening. The room was spacious and comfortable and had everything I needed.

Beautiful part of the country.

Beautiful part of the country. Short drive to Nottingham Road, Spar, petrol station. It rained while we were there so we didn't get a chance to walk around. Breakfast was excellent, staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. We missed the TV but there is one in the lounge by reception

Just the most excellent accommodation.

Just the most excellent accommodation. Helpful owners and staff who accommodated us so well. All amenities are available. The staff help you with your luggage and are so welcoming and kind. I have never stayed in such clean accommodation and the location is perfect and so beautiful on a stunning, quiet Midlands farm. We also loved the historical architecture of the house. There are beautiful views from the rooms and you look onto horses in front of the accommodation.

Very scenic, lots of interesting things to do on the...

Very scenic, lots of interesting things to do on the midlands meander. Must see Ardmore ceramic gallery, must try blueberry cheesecake at Blueberry cafe … and visit their bathroom for an amazing experience 😃

Scenic drives.

Scenic drives. Many restaurants from which to choose and a variety of shops with many locally produced goods. A couple of nice pubs with home brewed beer. Use the Midlands Meander numbered guide and map, and avoid dirt roads that are out of the way

they have a long list of good places to visit with good food served on various restaurants, this is a good place to unwind away from the City life. Really enjoy their wine farms, with variety of things sold that are required by everyone of the family- food, ice cream sale, coffee, light meals, pizza, factory shops

We had the worst experience and we were treated so badly and...

We had the worst experience and we were treated so badly and we were also spoken to in a very rude manner. The guest who were close to our tent confirmed they slept peacefully even though we were forced to pay for some guests who supposedly left because of our noise levels. No communication was made to even make us aware that we were disturbing the neighbours that particular night. We couldn't even have a proper conversation with the owners as she was already on a level that was impossible! We were utterly disappointed to say the least with such treatment

This is a lovely hotel to stay in. It is well maintained, clean and quiet. The location is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious! The manager, Desmond were friendly and he made us feel welcome. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. There are nothing to complain about. We had the best stay at Granny Mouse and can recommend this hotel a hundred persent.

What a wonderful surprise in the middle of the Midlands! Old English country feel hotel on the banks of a beautiful river. Recently renovated, our one night stopover should have been a few days. Excellent food and service. Staff so friendly and helpful. We also treated ourselves with a spa experience! Excellent and a must when you visit this gem of a place!!

A lovely hotel, gorgeous gardens, lots of different areas to sit or have a drink, pleasant staff, comfortable bed, beautiful glass dining room and good food. A good overnight stop between Joburg and the coast.
