The place was unreal. So beautiful with the river rushing through trees. The bed was completely luxurious and the attention to detail outstanding. The biscuits given with tea were home made, as were the scented shower bombs - just amazing. I asked for a takeaway breakfast which Tanya happily provided which was delicious. One of the best places I've stayed in South Africa. Would 100% go back.

The lodge is absolutely beautiful, in a perfect location with the best views. There is a wide variety of places to visit around the area and beautiful animals all around. The staff ensured I had a seamless experience and the breakfast is divine. This was definitely value for money and it exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back again

The tranquility, being in nature and far away from the city life, this place offers that and more. We had an amazing time with my family. We love Rockwood Lodges, it was not our first time at the property and we are definitely coming back.

Wonderful little village with lovely shops and places to eat! Great coffee and breakfast at the village cafe, delicious dinner at Rawdon's cosy restaurant with Notties cappuccino porters, and the best eisbein at the Bierfassl. Loved our stay!

I'd recommend that anybody driving between Joburg and Durban...
I'd recommend that anybody driving between Joburg and Durban to take a detour and stop in Howick. It's a cute and quaint little town with so much to offer...especially if you have the little ones with you.

Beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful part of the country. Short drive to Nottingham Road, Spar, petrol station. It rained while we were there so we didn't get a chance to walk around. Breakfast was excellent, staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. We missed the TV but there is one in the lounge by reception

Beautiful countryside living.
Beautiful countryside living. With few attractions, cafe's (The Fabble being favourite) and shops ideal for weekend gate away for the family. most roads are gravel so need a bakkie / van as it's a bit uncomfortable driving smaller sedan!

Meandering in the Midlands is lovely.
Meandering in the Midlands is lovely. There are a lot of places to see, loved Blueberry Cafe and Piggly Wigly. Some of the items in the shops are a little more expensive and we prefer more crafts and home made items. Hopefully this will be retained over time.

The room was clean pool was green and dirty breakfast was good but the staff ignored me at dinner only attended to white people I stayed for 30 min until I left 🚮Shout out to the guy at the office helped me with printing a document. I was in room 1 and there is no network and no wifi

We didnt leave the lodge, there was a restaurant and bar available till 21:00. There is a lot of things to do where we stayed. The town itself seems to be old and not in the greatest condition. The road have a lot of bad spots.

Close that bathroom door and you will be pleasantly...
Close that bathroom door and you will be pleasantly surprised what you will see. So many small things the managers included and put their thoughts into the layout to make it so user friendly and exceptionally comfortable. Close to Hilton College where I needed to be for a concert - to location was good for my need after all and will recommend this place to anyone.
