Michael is a Zimbabwean national originally based in Johannesburg, who has owned the farm since 2003. He's put a great deal of effort into transforming the farm, creating bespoke spaces that are warm and welcoming for the discerning traveller. Michael is a dog lover and a family man who enjoys the outdoors. He will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasurable.

Westfield Farm, which was established in 1870, offers a unique setting in the heart of the Midlands. We cater for all who are looking for a peaceful place to stay – families with children, groups of friends, couples looking for a romantic getaway or travellers looking to rest their heads. Westfield is now also available for intimate wedding ceremonies alongside the dam. Dogs are welcome at an extra charge. Michael, the farm owner, stays in the main farm house. The farm boasts multiple accommodation options: - 4 x 1 double bed rooms each with an en-suite bathroom, bar fridge, hot shower and electricity. All cottages have access to a communal kitchen, lounge, dining room, fire place and outdoor fire pit. - 1 cottage with 1 double and 2 single beds, 1 bathroom, private kitchen, lounge and fire place. There is an abundance of bird life and free roaming buck that frequent the farm, as well as hiking and mountain biking trails through the neighbouring mountains.

The property is situated in Balgowan, and is easily accessed just a few kilometres from the N3 highway. The stretch of dirt road that runs from the highway to the farm is in outstanding condition. The farm is in close proximity to Michael House Boys High School, Nottingham Road, Boschhoek and Gowrie Golf Clubs, the Midlands Meander and some outstanding coffee shops and restaurants. There are numerous fishing dams in the area, as well as historical sites, churches and shopping amenities close by.
