Malcolm and Glyn have spent the past 20+ years living and working and travelling throughout Africa (north of the Limpopo) and Europe, with a stint in Kuwait, the Dominican Republic and the US, and a 14 day stay in Haiti. Not all roses and sunshine! But the last few years spent in AirBnBs and guesthouses and 7 months touring in a motorhome, have laid the foundation for our desire to provide comfort and excellence to our fellow travellers. Let us make you smile!

Rietjiesbos is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and offers a pretty garden, a communal braai/barbeque area under great big, shady trees and views of the gorgeous mountain. There are 5 open-plan guest units, all with their own private en-suite bathroom. All our units have well-equipped compact kitchenettes, except for Woodpecker which is more suited to simple meal prep (although it does have an air-fryer). Free off-street parking is available on site, with ample space for your trailers, caravans and boats too! Just please let us know in advance if you'll be towing anything, so that we can plan and accommodate everyone comfortably. There is an electrical plug point at the parking area, if needed for camp fridges. Each guest unit has a little outside seating area. The entire garden in front of the 5 units and the braai facilities is for the enjoyment of all our guests. Space to find a quiet relaxing corner, or for the little ones to play and work off excess energy! Firewood and firelighters are provided free of charge. A braai basket containing everything braai-related (including spices) is available, so there is no need to be carrying plates and glasses, etc. from your unit. The team will also clear and wash up everything for you :) If you'd rather eat out, we will gladly help with reservations at some great nearby restaurants. The bright blue swimming pool is a very popular spot during our hot summer days in the Gem of the Karoo! Swimming towels are supplied. Malcolm, Glyn or one of the team will always be on hand to welcome you on arrival!
