Property info

Our property was part of the estate belonging to the mayor of Durban during the first world war. The local archives make very interesting reading as to what it was like in those days Our houses were built in 1925 and the builder at the time loved dancing and actually had an area of the back garden concreted so that the locals could come and dance here at the weekends. We have had visitors who were brought up in the children's home close by and remember coming here for the parties in the back garden.

Neighborhood info

We are so lucky to have a number of good restaurants within walking distance- try Olive and Oil for a memorable meal or Julio's for a casual eating house that all of us locals go to. We also have a park with a 1km training track for walkers and runners alike plus we have a bonus of a free exercise area with robust machines if you are missing your gym work out. We are also close to Ushaka Marine world and the International Convention Centre This is an older suburb of Durban but we have a very good community vibe and the fact that we are so accessible to good shopping centres and the beach area are a bonus. If you come to Durban you should try to book a visit to the Phanzi museum- they are so good they only take booked visits! Definitely a must for people who would like to learn more about African Culture - they have a wonderful collection of artifacts which are very tastefully displayed. Botanic Gardens is a short ride away and it is a quiet oasis to spend a little time wandering round - they often have music evenings by the lake so just look on line to see what might be happening
