Schoemanshof has 3 fully equipped self-catering houses on the bank of the Vaal River in the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site. Our units are all very private and about 80-100m from each other. You have full access to the river where you can fish Yellowfish, Carp, Barbel and Muddies. We love the sounds of nature and therefore have a no music policy. You can enjoy a short 3-5km marked hiking trail up a “kloof” to a look-out point and back. All our units have braai areas with a lapa and a boma to fully enjoy the outdoors. Schoemanshof has a river, hills, koppies, savanna and bushveld.

I am part of a family of four living our best life right here on Schoemanshof for almost 18 years. We love a sustainable life and therefore grow our own vegetables and have a cow named Mina for our milk, butter and cream.

Schoemanshof is located in the prestine Vredefort Dome World Heritage area right next to the Vaal River. We are 14km from the old town, Venterskroon, and 25km from Potchefstroom.
