SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION Only just over an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria in the beautiful Magaliesburg area. Our son started the accommodation for overseas students doing a gap year in South Africa soon after we purchased the farm in 2001. He then decided to move on and we gradually renovated the original old farm buildings over time and did extensive alterations to three of our cottages to make them more spacious. We also added a coffee and gift shop and a games room. There are currently five units ranging from a 2 to an 8 sleeper which are family, pet and child friendly. Many extra services and activities are available on offer on request. All units have braai facilities and are fully equipped. Our beautiful farm Thabametsi (meaning Mountain Water) lies between two koppies overlooking the valley to the Witwatersrand Mountains. We have a mixture of agricultural and wilderness areas making it fairly unique. Grasslands for the animals to graze on and the wilderness areas that provide shelter for the little creatures – squirrels, monkeys, buck, mongoose, porcupines, jackal, civets and even a serval that has made the farm it’s home. We cater for families and couples in our self catering cottages. Children are welcome and there are many activities to keep them occupied whilst our dog visitors are free to run and explore the open spaces.
