The Tuffin family from Cape Town have owned the farm since 2010 and look forward to sharing the peace and beauty of this Klein Karoo piece of paradise with their guests. They love interacting with their guests and various members of the family are passionate about cycling, fishing, and hiking which are all activities that the farm offers.

If you are looking for an affordable and relaxing getaway, The Country Garden, situated on Beecatcher Guest Farm, is the perfect place for you. You will find an informal friendly atmosphere in a beautiful private setting - a world away from the stresses of modern life. No cell phone reception or TV’s on the farm, however, WiFi is available at Reception and at two of our cottages. Also available at the Reception/Shop is our range of delicious homemade jams and pickles which are made on site using the fruits and vegetables grown on the farm itself. Our charming self-catering cottages are comfortable and fully equipped to have everything you might need - including the indispensable braai facilities! There are fantastic views of Towerkop to be had, along with direct access to the Little Black Mountains with all its diverse indigenous flora. Cool off in the mineral water swimming pool, go for a walk on the farm, fish in the farm dams, hike up the mountain or bring your mountain bike to explore the farm roads through Voorbaat Valley and Vanzylsdamme. Beecatcher farm is a working farm so there is an opportunity to get to know the farm animals: sheep, rabbits, chickens and goats. The kids will love it. This is also a Botanist's paradise with an amazing variety of flowers and plants. There's always something flowering. And for avid bird watchers there are more than 80 bird species, including Black Eagle, Spotted Eagle, Owls and the European Beecatchers (after which the farm is named).

The Country Garden Guest Farm is situated in a peaceful green valley at the foot of the Klein Swart mountain range only 25km outside the town of Ladismith. The road to our farm offers some remarkable views of the famous Towerkop mountain peak. Local attractions are the hike to the top of Towerkop, as well as the hike up to Stanley's Light, a unique water-powered light which when it shines indicates that the town of Ladismith has sufficient water. There is also a gentler hike in the foot hills behind the town of Ladismith known as the Towersig Hiking Trail for those who wish to do something shorter than the long mountain hikes. Ladismith is the home to two cheese factories, a wine cellar, several delightful restaurants, and one of the few remaining churches designed and built by the architect Carl Otto Hager. Near Ladismith is also the spectacular Seweweekspoort, with its Seweweekspoort Peak which is the highest mountain peak in the province of the Western Cape. Regarding things you might need, Ladismith also has a Spar, a Shoprite, a Usave, two local butcheries, and two petrol garages. Remember to buy everything you might need while you are in Ladismith because it will mean a twenty minute drive back if you forget something...
