Like many travelers to Clarens, I fell in love with this little town upon my arrival. Making Clarens my home has been a privilege and being able to share it with every traveler passing through the doors of Upper House is a wonderful experience. I hope that every guest takes home a piece of the warmth and breathtaking beauty that Clarens has to offer, and that their stay with us is an extension of this positive experience.

Upper House is situated within walking distance of the town square which offers a variety of wonderful restaurants, quaint stores, art galleries, pottery painting and the very unique Clarens Perfumerie. The town hosts a variety of annual festivals, outdoor markets specialist workshops. Guests are able to easily access hiking routes into the Clarens Conservancy Nature trails. Clarens is a short drive away from the mighty Golden Gate National Park which offers more hiking trails and romantic sunset drives and the spectacular Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre, a state-of-the-art facility showcasing the region's paleontological and geological history, with a focus on the oldest known dinosaur embryos discovered in the area. For the adventure seekers, the town offers various outdoor activities at the Clarens Extreme.
