Van Rhyn Guest House is Situated in the tranquil village of Vanrhynsdorp. The original Victorian style house was built in 1906. The additions and renovations (Designed by Ernest Emslie) were done in 2002 / 2006 (The Annex) and the end result still retains much of the original character and charm. An ideal place to spend a few days exploring the surrounding area and discovering the richness and diversity of the West Coast, "Knersvlakte", Hantam Karoo, Namaqualand and its people. We, your hosts, Herbert, Terence and our staff, invite you to make yourselves at home and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our lodgings. Besides offering warm hospitality and friendly service, our aim is to ensure that your stay will prove to be a memorable one.

A World of Wonders awaits the tourists here... * Three Botanical Kingdoms converge in the area with special emphasis on the succulents, a third of the worlds species are to be found here. A visit to the two local Succulent Nurseries being a must see. * Bird Watching, mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking trails are also available. * Spring time brings the wonder of Spring Flowers, when the countryside erupts into a kaleidoscope of colour as fields of wild flowers bloom following the winter rainfall. * Koi and Bushmen rock art * Stargazing – As a result of the clear smog free air, the southern night sky is aglow with stars not seen in the cities. * Namaqualand West Coast Wine Area – Home to the most westerly vineyards in South Africa and producing some of the finest wines.
