Mossel Bay is paradise with a temperate climate, similar to the Seychelles. Everyday in summertime! It is a holiday paradise with lovely cliff top walks on the Cape St. Blaize Trail and beaches to explore in the area. Arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. Welcome Home to Historic Mossel Bay Welcome home — to Mossel Bay, a place now recognised as the home of humanity, with some of the earliest evidence of modern human behaviour found at the nearby Pinnacle Point Caves. Built in 1906 and lovingly renovated, the villa is a peaceful sanctuary — a safe, comfortable base from which to explore the Garden Route, the ocean, and the deeper stories of this remarkable coastline. I’m Andrea, your host. Hosting here is about more than a stay — it’s about meaning, connection, and conscious travel. Guests are welcome to engage with the local community, learn about our shared human story, or even volunteer during their visit if they wish. I’m a registered cultural guide and can accompany guests on township and heritage tours, sharing local insight that goes beyond guidebooks. I’m also a Board Member of Mossel Bay Tourism and Chair of the Friends of the Dias Museum, and I love helping guests discover the best places to go, see, eat, and experience — both well-known and quietly special. Originally from Wales (UK), I came to Africa in 1999 after taking a career break from British Airways to work as a horseback safari guide on a black rhino sanctuary in the Waterberg. I never returned to the corporate world, instead building a life rooted in conservation, community, and travel, working across South Africa, Malawi, and Cambodia. Today, running this guesthouse in Mossel Bay with my son Tarquin is a dream realised. I love welcoming like-minded travellers, sharing stories, chatting about the Garden Route, and talking about my current work in ocean conservation. This is a place to rest — and a place to feel part of something older, deeper, and very human.

Historic Linkside is a quiet palm fringed central suburb in Mossel Bay. The Cape St. Blaize coastal trail is only 5 minutes walk away for spectacular scenery, sight dolphins, whales or the new longest zip-line in the World over the sea! Highly recommended- Point of Human Origins, a world renowned archaeological site. A 2-hour walk along the Cape. St. Blaize trail to Pinnacle Point Golf Course, picnic or eat at the restaurant, book the guided tour and then catch a taxi back to Mossel Bay. Alternatively, walking down into Mossel Bay, past the Lighthouse to "The Point" only takes 15 minutes and a nice way to see the area and escape being in the car. A visit to Bartholomeus Diaz Maritime Museum a must, followed by a walk on the Diaz beach and a sundowners at the 'Blue Oyster' Bar overlooking the bay. If you need supplies Mossel Bay, main street offers local stores PEP and Jet stores, major High Street Banks and Checkers Supermarket. On Marsh Street try Jacks Bagels for an excellent breakfasts and coffee and Carola Anne is the a top spot anytime of the day. Not to be missed World class Shark Cage Diving, a sunset cruise on a Catamaran.
