Perfect location central to all the beautiful walks. Views out of the window were stunning, little stream with a bridge and Mountain View’s with lovely balcony to sit outside and enjoy watching the world go by. Property was very clean, beds very comfortable, towels in a swan were amazing to come in to on your first night. lovely big drawing room to sit in and relax with a big fire that gets lit every night. Breakfast room is large overlooking the bridge, river and Mountain View. Idyllic setting for a perfect relaxing stay. Couldn’t be any more perfect.

Bower House Inn was really quaint and lovely and the pub food was wonderful. The menu had the classics as well as more untraditional and vegetarian options, which we really appreciate on a long trip in the Lakes. The staff here were all really lovely as well. We would be happy to stay here again.

The location is amazing and perfect for a base if you are visiting the lakes. The staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We had dinner in the evening, whichvwas delicious and served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was part of the deal and there was plenty of choice. Delicious!!

Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The Bower House has a generations-old dining reputation to keep up (there's a menu on the wall from 1958), but they're doing that just fine. Enjoyed views from the restaurant garden room across Eskdale to Muncaster Fell, and in fine weather eating out in the garden would look like a good plan. Menu choices are good and varied. Room was across the yard in a comfortable annexe, which means it was quiet even though the bar was busy.

Having stayed many times all over the Lake District this was our first time to Bower House. It was fabulous and we will definitely return. 10 out of 10 and easily our favourite of all the places we have stayed at so far. Beautiful garden. Huge Shower (room 1) in the annexe. Very peaceful location. Gorgeous bar, fantastic menu and delicious both breakfast and dinner. Remote but worth it!
