I loved my stay here, the bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. It was a bit out of the city center but right by the mountain and the port. The owners were super kind and make the best breakfast, they accommodated my vegetarian needs 😁 they also recommended a great tour guide for the main attractions around.

From the moment we arrived, Manami-chan went the extra mile and made our stay truly memorable. Her home is uniquely attached to her family’s temple, which she lovingly cares for, and the atmosphere reflects her warm, gentle spirit. The decor is impeccable—calm, cozy, and soothing—so it feels like the house itself is Manami: thoughtful and kind. Every detail has been considered: a comfortable tatami bedroom with soft, plush mattress and linens, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and even a little mini-spa corner to unwind. There are two toilets (a rare convenience in Japan) and the location is great for exploring. Manami helped us rent e-bikes and gave us wonderful day-trip plans and cultural insights we would never have discovered on our own. Staying here felt like touching the true spirit of old Japan while enjoying modern comforts. For us, it was a dream place. If you value kindness, authenticity, and quiet beauty, book Oteragoto—you’ll feel Manami’s heart in every corner. She truly deserves all the guests who will love this place as much as we did. 10/10. Friendly staff and great location. Beach, shrine, botanical garden all within walking distance. Bakeries and restaurants also nearby and easy to access. The room was clean and coming & going was no hassle. Other guests were pleasant as well. Overall, an excellent place to stay while in Miyazaki.

The house is close to the train station and it looks really cute. The uncle, owner prepared everything well and clean. He is so kind, giving us advice how to enjoy Yufuin Town. We had a wonderful time staying here. We definitely recommend this place to everyone!
