A smaller temple but no less magical.

A smaller temple but no less magical. Inside the Barque shrine you can see Alexander the Great's coronation scenes. The temple is off-axis, which most people assume was a mistake of the builders (no such thing in Egypt), it reflects cosmological events and star alignment. It is also a journey through time as each section was build by a different king, all the way to the Roman altar. Small but magical, underrated compared to Karnak. Do walk the Avenue of Sphinxes. Also magical in the evening as the Temple is beautifully lit at night and stays open longer so go to Karnak first and walk to Luxor.

I visited 30 years ago, then the locals just dropped rubbish everywhere, this seems to have stopped. Leave plenty of time if you want to walk the Avenue of the Sphinx, some information boards helped you undertand what you were looking at, restoration work is ongoing, walk around the sides first and enter from the back, in a courtyard, you can see where the Romans plastered over the wall art and put there own.

Interesting but quite difficult to understand because of a lack of knowledge of Egyptyan history. Even if you have a guide it is difficult to remember what it is you have seen. There is very little effort in trying to make it an educational experience which you can remember.

Luxor temple is a must visit.

Luxor temple is a must visit. It's the biggest one and is absolutely fascinating. Even though we started quite early in the morning, there were already groups, however we still managed to get some nice photos without the crowds. I'd recommend to visit with a tour guide to understand what are you looking at.

The Egyptian people are charming and kind but be warned they will take advantage of you regarding your money and tend to be aggressive in Luxor. As a solo traveler do not go to Luxor Temple alone at night. In order to walk the avenue you must pay an entrance fee to Luxor and Karnak. I wanted to walk from Luxor Temple to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of the Sphinx but there was an event happening at Luxor Temple and hours where shortened.

Love the location! It's 10 minutes away from Luxor Temple and 15 minutes away from the airport. Its also near the port where you can ride boats if you will avail the hot air balloon ride. Love the comfy bed. I also like the balcony. The staffs are always smiling and not asking for tips unlike any other hotels.

I loved the location! It's 10 minutes from Luxor Temple and 15 minutes from the airport. It's also close to the port where you can take boat rides if you take advantage of the hot air balloon ride. I loved the comfortable bed. I also loved the balcony. The staff are always smiling and don't ask for tips, unlike other hotels.

We have stayed at several accommodations on this trip and Amr's apartment is by far the best! It is clean, updated, nothing broken or leaking, and well equipped with the items needed for a comfortable stay. Amr responded promptly to messages and the location is ideal. We are close to shopping, food options, and the view from the terrace is INCREDIBLE! We see Luxor temple, the Nile and across the river we see the Valley of the Kings. We highly recommend this fabulous, Luxor apartment hosted by the gracious, Amr. Thank you!

It is near to everything. Walking distance to Luxor temple and souq. Few minutes away to Karnak temple via taxi. The hostel is very safe inside. It was simple and affordable. I wished there has been more choices for the breakfast. The staff were super friendly and helpful specially Omar. What I like most in this hostel is it is very clean and they will insist to clean your room, they mop the floors in the hallway and reception everyday, though it needs upgrade on structural aspect but given its a 2 star hotel it is understandable.
