Stayed many times with my pet. The better pet friendly rooms look out onto the inner courtyard, those on the road side are not quite enough for a peaceful night.

Staff were amazing, attentive, fun, helpful, food was good, room was warm (as the weather was very cold and snowing), comfy bed and lovely modern shower room.

This is a beautiful, atmospheric hotel with very interesting history, having been the lodgings for Dambusters Squadron 617 during WW2. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel has been well maintained inside - the original staircase is lovely and there is a drawing room with a fireplace for gathering. Ask to see the original bar, which contains documents, photos and memorabilia from that era. The meals were served in the large dining room and were wonderful - lovely, old fashioned service and exceptional food. Parking is on site and there is plenty of it. We are planning to return and stay longer when next we visit the UK.

Staff are always so welcoming breakfast is amazing with a good choice . Location is near to local restaurants pubs and shops .

A warm welcome and the facilities and location were great. Good beer, sky sports and nice atmosphere. Would benefit from cooked meals in the evening and breakfast, but plenty of restaurants and cafes in the locality

The hotel was lovely and the room was clean and the bed was really comfortable

The barman was on his own on a busy Saturday eve and he still had bundles of patience, he took us to our room with a welcoming attitude. The place had a nice atmosphere. For a pub it had quite high standards. The attic room was fine for one night but for a week you would need a room with a wardrobe.

The windmill doesn't yet have facilities for food but are planning to resume that. This isn't a problem as it's in the very centre of Alford and has at least half a dozen cafes and takeaways within a 2 minute walk or 20 seconds in the case of Evangelenes Patisserie which I recommend. Overall a great stay with great staff.
