disappointing, they call, it a castle but its not much more...
disappointing, they call, it a castle but its not much more than a glorified stately home / museum and the trip we took to the caves was basically two caves, none of the more interesting cave trails I had read about, like the ones used as escape routes
food was okay in the cafe which had a great view but it was very pricey for what it was, the saving grace was there was a display by Paul Smith the designer at the time we visited which I found interesting,
after waiting whilst it was refurbed to visit the place it was a let down, maybe the years waiting led to an unduly high expectation.... but I found the trip around the caves in town better and same for the gaol-house (if thats what its called) museum

Was a lovely day ,a lot to see and very well set out thank god for the lifts as there are a lot of steps to climb .
Very interesting to learn about all the wars and hard times that people had to go through during those times .
Gift shop alittle expensive but we still had to buy a little memento of our terrific day ,lovely cafe also .

Interesting place to visit, lovely grounds plenty of activity's for children. Cafe had small amount of choices but well presented and staff friendly.
Value for money for year ticket go as often as you like if your living in surrounding area. Picnic areas and plenty of space to relax. Lots of information and a great exhibition in the gallery's and helpful friendly staff. Different to what I expected. But most enjoyable. Would highly recommend to others.

A great day out.
A great day out. If you don’t already know find out all about the history of the legend who was Robin Hood from Nottingham of Sherwood Forest. A big part of our history and culture- we need to keep passing down these stories and history to our children as it’s all part of our culture . Maid Marion. Robin’s Merry Men. Shooting bows & arrows.

The castle is a must-see if you visit Nottingham.
The castle is a must-see if you visit Nottingham. It is steeped in history. Maybe not as impressive as the likes of Edinburgh Castle, but the building has a story to tell. A lot of it is more like an art gallery. You can go on a guided tour of part of the underground section of the castle, which I recommend if you ever visit the castle.

Staff very helpful, breakfast very good and restaurant for dinner (5-9pm) was excellent. I don't know what they do to their fries but they were the best I've had - would love the recipe! Very close to Nottingham Castle.

I stayed here recently and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent—right across from Nottingham Castle, yet surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and well-kept, with a comfortable bed and a TV for relaxing in the evenings. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Would definitely recommend for a city break!

Nice and clean rooms. We got a room upgrade at half price. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant food was fairly good as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Close to city Centre and just next to the nottingham castle if someone is visiting for sightseeing.

This hotel is right next to some landmarks like the Nottingham castle, the Robin Hood statue and the historic pub "Ye olde trip to Jerusalem". It's also minutes away from Old Market square and has good access to bus stops.
My room was comfortable enough and had all necessary facilities, I'd consider this hotel for my next trip to Nottingham, too.

Everything about this place is ideal for anyone passing through Nottingham. The train station is a short walk, a shopping center is across the canal, and it is a short walk to Nottingham Castle and the city center. Perfect place I hope to utilize again.
