The location and the staff were perfect! Breakfast was good as well!

Location. Welcoming staff, breakfast choices, decor, ability to leave luggage and price. The Santa Breakfast was a lovely tweak and delicious!

We loved the mirror room - it was the perfect adult night away.

It was quite easy to get round York, as it was right next to the shambles. Has amazing interior decor. And super comfortable.

Great location and great hotel

This place was super comfortable and had a large , which I appreciated. There is a hot yoga studio on-site, but you do have to pay for it. It had a jacuzzi on site, which, unfortunately, I didn't have time to go use. The room was large.The bed was super comfortable. Very clean and stuff was helpful. Close to city center and transportation was easy. Felt very safe.

Excellent central location with free on site parking. Booked an overnight stay to attend a concert at York Barbican center which is only 20 minutes walking distance or 10 minutes by taxi. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room by a very nice polite young man. The room was lovely, clean and we were provided with fresh white towels and the bathroom facilities were excellent.Plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate was also provided.. Having arrived early I took the opportunity to enjoy a couple of pints of excellent, very reasonably priced real ales in the bar. These were served by the young host who had great knowledge of the drinks on offer and who was more than happy to chat and recommend a good taxi service to take us to the concert. We had a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was also included which consisted of cereal, fresh juices followed by a full English with excellent quality ingredients. We had a great stay here, it was good value for money and we would definitely return.

Cool history and very central

Our favorite of the 7 hotels/ B&Bs across England and Scotland where we stayed! Lovely properly, great value, door friendly staff, and a very homey feel!

The hotel was ideal for us and convenient for town . But far enough away from the tourists traps I think the hotel is great for the older generation.

Beautiful location with room overlooking the river

Clean, nice smelling, big bed, good shower, amazing location. I was very happy with the entire experience. The staff were very nice and have some local discounts if you stay there.

The Buffet breakfast was awesome and the variety was superb.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of options. The hotel is right by the York Minster and The Shambles so we were able to walk everywhere during our stay. Dinner in the Bow Room was very elegant. The bar/lounge is a great place for a cocktail and mid day bite to eat. The views of the old city walls and garden are lovely. The building is historic and next to the Treasurer House first built in 1091. Our room was very large and comfortable. The staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive.

Located close to so many sights and bars and restaurants! We were not wanting for things to do and see! The room was clean, the staff was kind and welcoming and the tavern was a fun place to wind down in the evening as well as start the day!

I loved every bit of this place! The staff was wonderful, the room was comfy, the location inside the walled old town York was ideal, and relaxing in the indoor and outdoor (heated) sections of the on-site pub was the cherry on the cake each evening after a long day of activities. Did I mention the breakfast? GET THE BREAKFAST.

Fabulous room and lovely team of staff

Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. I even stayed an extra night! The location was perfect. I highly recommend The Churchill.
