I was fortunate to stay at the Heritage Hotel Lucia in Dubrovnik. The hotel is lovely, with beautifully appointed rooms, impeccable service, and absolutely delicious breakfast. The attention to detail and warm hospitality made our stay especially memorable. We can’t wait to return at the end of our trip and experience it all again.

A city-defining experience. These walls were erected in the 13th century to fortify the city against invasion. Today, as then, they reveal stunning views of the Adriatic sea and the Old Port. Budget extra time on the hour-long loop to admire the Old Port views. Fun fact: “Game of Thrones” fans may recognise this site as the fictional Kings Landing.

We waited until after 5pm (17:00) to start our walk.

We waited until after 5pm (17:00) to start our walk. This was 2nd week of September and it was not crowded at all. Stopped in a small bar that was so cute and then continued. When we got to the west side, there was a bar with THE BEST sunset view every. Met lovely people from Australia and watched an exquisite sunset. Totally unexpected and worth it.

Great views of the sea, mountains and interior of old city, but beware walking in the heat of day. It's exposed to full sun with little shade. We are in our 70s and fit, but the steep steps were challenging. Enjoy a gelato afterward!

Go early as possible.

Go early as possible. We stayed over night in town as it just happened to be our first night in Croatia. Got on the walls 1st thing, I think we even got to the start 20 mins before opening, small queue. Seemed to get busy quite quickly. BEautiful views though so worth a visit.

The wall walk if fully exposed, go early to avoid crowds and the heat. There are bars/places to stop for drinks/food and shopping on the wall. Beautiful views. After the walk to one of the Buza bars for drinks and a swim (you will see them on your wall walk).
