The historic building has a prime location: facing the river and waterfront wall, a stones’ throw from the heart of the main tourist attractions but away from the mobs and noise. The building is clearly from another era—wooden floors and stairs, antique-ish furniture, plain but pleasant. The small room had a window overlooking the river and attached efficient bath plus essential air conditioning for that steamy climate. While the owner was pleasant and helpful if asked, there was no service such as emptying the wastebasket—no small thing when toilet paper goes there not down the drain. Though I am unfamiliar with Malacca’s prices, $50 a night seemed high. Finally: there is live music most nights—folk-ish and acoustic—in the ground floor restaurant.

This is probably my favorite place to have stayed on my trip in Southeast Asia so far. It is literally in the middle of everything. It’s a half a block from the walking Street and the night market and the river and exploring the wonderful city that is Malacca. It’s a old Chinese built designed building that’s been converted into a hotel. It has nice rooms. They’re comfortable. It’s quiet the staff is incredibly nice. She just can’t believe how great they are.

em... kinda packed and you need to do booking earlier before going for some eatery and outlets like Mamee if you want to send your kids for the workshop. cos it has only 3 sessions per day and to me its not really value for money as the cost of it per ticket and maybe they need to add more freebies into the goodie bag with the high price ticket! other than that... if u plan to visit the pasar malam or night market make sure u go on the friday and saturday... other days it's not open. *** i am not sure about sunday. have fun!

The hotel is conveniently located near Red Square, with Jonker Street just a 5–10 minute walk away, making it easy to explore the city's main attractions. The jacuzzi was excellent—the tub was spacious and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money, and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Loved the location, next to the river and very close to Jonker street. Hotel staff were friendly and room was clean with a view of the river below. It was very quiet though the property is next to the river n the road.

Clean and luxurious feel stay but affordable price. The lobby smells nice. The breakfast buffet spread is good with a lot of food choices. The nyonya laksa is so good and a must-try. The location is within walking distance to the jonker street and dutch square, and right by the melaka river. Plenty of complimentary car park for the hotel guests available at the property. Very fast checkin and checkout procedure.

The ancient vibe of this hotel is amazing and very charming. The bed is extremely comfortable and soft—we slept for more than 10 hours and had a wonderful rest. The hotel is located inside Jonker Street, and all major attractions are just a 2–5 minute walk away. Highly recommended for anyone planning to visit Malacca.

The host is very responsive, parking space is quite convenient, plus it is gated and guarded 24 hours. Perfect place for foodies since everything is within walking distance! Especially the famous bangsudu with his signature nasi lemak with extremely sweet, potong kaki type of sambal! There are also mamak restaurant there, flea market, shopping malls, Jonker Street, St Paul Hill, cinemas, all very close to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip to malacca.
