I had a very good stay here. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was bigger than expected, without a wardrobe but with a quite adequate hanging rack for clothes and jacket.
The breakfast was sufficient and tasty, nicely fried eggs and bacon and several other options - including fresh watermelon slices, much appreciated.
The location is very convenient, not far from the railway station. Easy walking both to the city centre, and the free ferries get you easily to and from the old town on the other side of the river.

Gamlebyen is the (small) old town (1600 or so) within Fredriikstad. On Saturday busy with day tourists. The hotel is fully in style of the old town, yet very comfortable. Good breakfast facilities (Vaerk) and plenty of restaurant available.
