Very cozy and clean,close to metro so you can go everywhere

Great, helpful and welcoming reception team. Good location. If you don’t want to drive by car to NY city there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel. 158 - takes you directly to the city center. If you take 165- on the way back you can stop to enjoy sunset in the Old Glory Park it’s really stunning location. It has parking - 18$ which is actually lower than average other hotels are offering. Room was comfortable and cleaned every day. Good breakfast and lots of options to eat out around the hotel. We would come back, thank you for your hospitality!

Quiet location, excellent restaurant!

The location, is quiet near to Central Park. Duan reade and many restauranta are near. Clean room, very co mfortable. Customer service excellent.

The real stone used in the bathroom!

The suite was charming with wonderful views. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchenette was lovely. The housekeeping staff was excellent and did our dishes each day! That was an unexpected treat. What was also over the top were the front door/ reception/ bell staff. We stay in a wide range of hotels and travel extensively. This was the best customer service I have received in literally years. I will definitely return to this hotel whenever I need to be in NYC.

We wanted to splurge one night in NY, for our 46th anniversary. ( The Carlyle documentary dvd is a favourite of ours.) We normally stay in the Theatre district as we watch a lot of shows. The concierge, Diana, with whom I corresponded, was very thoughtful to send a Bemelman’s Manhattan bottle with tasty hors d’oeuvres. The aides who met us outside, who helped bring our luggage in and got us taxis were very kind. The room was spacious and quiet. Housekeeping brought us large mugs and a tea kettle for our morning tea. Bemelman’s itself is a gem, we loved again the convivial hospitality and service, and enjoyed the piano player.

Natascha, the front desk representative - "Above and Beyod" gets an entirely new meaning when she is involved. I got there at 02:00 AM, middle of the night, after a 12hrs flight and over 20 hours in transit, and due to my mistake with time zones, I had a booking only for the next day, and they were fully booked. I tried looking for other options at Booking.com, and none were available at reasonable prices and the options were very limited. I also was so tired I thought of finding a bench on the street to rest my head for a couple of hours because I could not go on any longer. Natascha calmed me down, let me sit at the lobby as long as I needed to sort my affairs, while she was calling close by hotels that she knew to see if there is any availability. She then checked, and found out there was a room at this property which wasn't occupied, and was technically not available for rent, but she managed to arrange that I get this room. and charged me the same price as my booking with them that I had for the next day (I was willing to pay much more at that moment). Natascha, you are a life saver. I will never forget your help. She also lent me a charger for my phone, as I didn't get the chance to get an American plug and olny had the European one. Also, the rest of the staff is very nice, the place was spotless clean, 2 minutes away from the subway, easy and cheap transportation to all the main places, comfy bad and pillows, hot shower, a safe I could fit my 14' laptop into, many towels, ac was good. Breakfast is coffee, bagels, eggs, jam and orange juice, not what I use to, but was good. I would stay again.

The authenticity of the property, the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and the gorgeous time period rooms. Check in was easy and access to the property was smooth.

I loved that it was a good price!! First time being to NY and I was very happy with our stay! Not outdated very new!

Did not recieve breakfast, but I did like the set up of the room, bathroom was bigger than I expected it to be, the door for the bathroom just seemed a little too close to the toilet and would not close fully. Overall, my stay was very relaxing.

Couple blocks away from metro station that takes you everywhere!:)

If you're looking for a safe place to rest, this is an excellent option. It's just steps from two train stations, and if you know how to use that mode of transport, you're practically in the city. I stayed for four nights, and the owner was very attentive and friendly. 👏🏻 It's not a hotel; it's the entire second floor of the house, with a bedroom, bathroom, and living room. Personally, I would stay there again.

Clean room, great gathering space in the C Level, great size room and bathroom for NYC, good storage space in room, EXCELLENT staff service, complimentary coffee, tea and water much appreciated!

Such a pleasant stay and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The room and bathroom is spacious, clean, and well maintained. Location is good since it’s near a station, and parking is easily available if you have a car. They serve simple but good breakfast, then bread and beverage refill is available 24/7. Staff are very kind. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel given the value as well. Great job!
