Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, supportive and friendly during our stay, taking the time to visit with us during meals and helping to accommodate our relatively packed time on Mafia. We felt truly at home and only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the grounds. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by curious monkeys and saw several elephant shrews as a bonus to our stay. The whale shark excursions that they offer are best on the island (we tried one other operator as well), being not only efficiently run and catering to all demographics, but also very educational and responsibly run by a team that is clearly passionate and informed about the animals. Excellent adventure - thanks for making our time so special :)

Meremeta Lodge is one of the few places in Mafia Island that has air-conditioning - a must in February. The staff members are all great, and the owner (Meremeta) is very friendly, attentive, available, accommodating and helpful - nothing is too much effort for him; you can ask him anything and he will always answer "it is possible"!
Meremeta Lodge is also one of the very few places in Mafia that is owned by a local Mafian, and we recommend that you support local.
