Mel and Natasha are great hosts. I would certainly recommend the secluded Beachaaven chalet if you are up for an adventure. They cooked us things that we went and bought in the market. The beautiful seafront is a step out of the chalet. Ask Mel to drop you off on the island infront where you could do snorkelling and kayak. It's 5 min boat ride from the chalet. They are very accommodative to your needs. Below items need attention : 1. The chalet is secluded 5 minutes boat ride from the shore. The boat is a dingy and if you are worried about sea then you need to ask for life jackets. 2. You need to pay attention to the time of arrival in Kota Belud jetty as it is 2 / 3 hours drive from kota Kinabalu. The tide is key because it might be that the time you arrive it's low tide and you need to carry the luggages to the boat walking on the shore. It is also not suitcase friendly unless you ready to carry it. 3. Avoid night flights or after 6pm arrival at the jetty. It was pitch dark and there are no lights. Luckily it was full moon and we had clear visibility. 4. As it is secluded place there is no electricity in the chalet. There is only a fan for the night. Bring a power bank or ask Natasha to charge the phone. 5. Internet connection is not available. You might get some network if you are near the seafront. 6. There are sand flies, recommend bringing sand fly spray. 7. Food and drinks are basic. However, Mel and Natasha cooked us food that we requested. We did the above with 3 kids 2-4 years + 2 children and 4 adults.

I liked that the place is completely in the nature. You're surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. I'm also a big fan of compost toilets, not because of lack of comfort, obviously because it's a nice thing to do to our nature.

We had a wonderful time at Greenhouse Eco lodge. It is a lovely small lodge where you arrive as strangers and leave as friends. Sook Peng is so beautiful she has the most amazing energy and most importantly is a wonderful cook. Fred is also a very accommodating host. Chopping coconuts for us!! Lovely setting on a beautiful tropical island.

It was a family run lodge, everyone we encountered was very friendly, supportive. Even though they do not offer the laundry services, they let us use their facilities after the kids got car sick and we were in a pickle. Greatly appreciated. Also, they offer water refills which is very ecological.

Howard was so passionate and informative, he went above and beyond to make this a great stay for us. Nothing was too much trouble and his family were so welcoming and hospitable. The lodges are a great location in the jungle, but also a 25 minute walk to the beach. It's an interesting but also peaceful environment to spend a few days exploring the area. The beach walk recommend by Howard was amazing, it's like paradise!

Really beautiful surroundings, quiet and serene. There is a free bus run by the lodge to the near attractions and upon request picked us up at different times. Good vegetarian options for food. Hosts are really lovely and made such an effort remembering our names and asking about us.

Location is just perfect. We saw orang oetans at breakfast and while walking down the staircase. I think this place is more unique compared to the other lodges alongside the river. Room is cosy and basic. You do have hot water and at nights the temperature is quite comfortable for sleeping. The guys at the lodge spent lot of effort to make your stay as best as possible. Food is also good. I would definitely recommend this place!
