This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!

Everything was amazing! Great value for money. We spent our honeymoon moon at the Ocean Bay Luxury Guesthouse, it was the best decision ever! From the staff, breakfast and accommodation, all were excellent and very professional. The room was clean, host Kirsten very helpful and the garden impeccable. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this guesthouse!

A beautiful home to relax and spend quality time with the family. Located right on the canal and within proximity of shops and restaurants, with all the amenities available to make your stay extremely comfortable. Great hosts as well! We really hope to be able to return again in future!

The room was spotlessly clean, well maintained, and tastefully decorated (it looked and felt new). The bed was extremely comfortable and linens fresh and crisp. There were thoughtful touches, such as good quality shampoo and body lotion, a coffee machine, a selection of tea and coffee, a cutting board and utensils, and nice ceramic coffee mugs (which my husband and I always appreciate because coffee tastes so much better in ceramic than paper/plastic). The host was very friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend.
