The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the rooms are comfortable. Lovely dinner and breakfast spot. The dinner was especially amazing - best lamb of my life. The breakfast is tailored to your preferences, and Priscilla and other guests are great to chat to.

This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!

Our recent stay at Brighton Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks largely to the incredible hospitality of our host, Claudette. From the moment we arrived, Claudette’s warm and welcoming nature set the tone for a truly memorable visit. Her natural gift for hosting shines through in every interaction—it’s evident she was born for this role. The lodge itself is an absolute gem. Tastefully decorated with elegant fixtures and thoughtfully chosen furnishings, every corner exudes charm and sophistication. The ambiance perfectly captures a sense of tranquility and calm, ideal for relaxing and unwinding. Brighton Lodge’s location is simply unbeatable. Nestled in a peaceful setting, it’s surprisingly just a short stroll away from the bustling beachfront, vibrant restaurants, the lively Boardwalk Mall, and various charming shops. You truly get the best of both worlds—serenity and convenience combined. Breakfast each morning was delightful—beautifully presented, full of variety, and the perfect start to our day. Claudette enhanced the experience through her genuine interest in ensuring guests enjoyed their meals and their stay, offering valuable insights and excellent recommendations on local attractions, must-visit sites, and hidden gems around the area. If you’re looking for exceptional accommodation paired with heartfelt hospitality and a prime location, Brighton Lodge, with Claudette as your host, is undoubtedly the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

Breakfast great and Tsepho is amazing. He assisted us with all we needed and was so accommodating. We had booked into the only available room on booking.com which wasn't great when we got there. ( we had previously stayed in 3 other rooms there which were all great) Tsepho kindly arranged for us to stay in the penthouse for the nights which it was available so we were very grateful for that but unfortunately we had to move back to the original room for our last night.

I found My-Konos to be on par with most 5* hotels and boutique hotels. Everything that I would expect at a luxury establishment was provided. The room was tastefully furnished and equipped with high end appliances. The provision of niche and luxury toiletries was an added bonus.
