This was one of the best hotels we stayed at. The service, the food, the room and the location were top notch! We booked the room with a private onsen and we loved it! The room was very comfortable and everything was new and in very good condition! We had breakfast and dinner included, which is highly recommended and necessary since there is nothing nearby to eat. The buffet offered a very good variety and a good mix between western and oriental food. Everything was very tasty and of very good quality! Regarding the facilities, we did not try the public onsen since we had the private one in the room but it was very comfortable and with water from real hot springs! The location is very good, you can easily access everything there is to do in Hakone! (It is necessary to book a transfer with the hotel itself to get there from the main train station, since it is somewhat complicated to get there by public transport)

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Mizuno. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning — and even on days when Mount Fuji isn’t visible, it’s still such a beautiful place to relax. The staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and offer amazing value compared to most hotels in Japan. Especially if you prefer Western-style dishes, this hotel really stands out — the quality and presentation are far better than what I experienced in other hotels in the country if we talk about the same price category. Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kawaguchiko. 🌿

Beautiful property that is extremely peaceful. Delicious food, some standouts at both breakfast and dinner. We were able to see Mt Fuji which made the trip! In the fall, this is the perfect location to walk to nearby festivities.

We had a wonderful experience at Kujiranoonaka. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to the Mount Fuji room, which was spacious and beautifully traditional. It was my first time sleeping on a futon, and I found it incredibly comfortable. The shared onsen and toilet facilities were spotless and very well maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the convenience of the small shop and dining area on-site, both added a lot of charm and practicality to the accommodation. Overall, it was a memorable and relaxing stay that I would highly recommend!

We had an amazing time, huge house, ping pong, we did bbq with Fuji view, enjoyed sauna as well. Super quiet area, the owners are very nice and react fast on the messages.

I had the most amazing time here and can’t wait to come back next time! If you love Japanese cuisine, the chef here creates the most exquisite dishes. Nature was kind to us too—we were lucky enough to enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji right from the specific room we chose. A huge thank you to the incredible staff for their warm hospitality, especially Binod, who was absolutely spectacular. The onsen was a lifesaver after days of endless walking—it worked wonders on my tired body and got me ready to explore all over again. Hakone is truly a beautiful, peaceful getaway.
