Located right opposite the train station, it makes it very easily accessible. But at the same time it feels safe, the facilities are excellent, and the staff was veery kind and nice. We even got a free room upgrade (free minibar) and it was a very nice gesture that made us feel even more special.

This was our third or fourth time at Hotel Mercure Bologna Centro. The hotel has just been refurbished and everything is brand new. The reception area is very welcoming and the rooms are spacious and spotless. It is conveniently located in front of the train station and about twenty minutes walk from Piazza Maggiore.

The small bar is run by a guy who is friendly and helpful and can pour a good drink. He is also interested in food, and has s small menu covering local delicacies. Excellent snacks at very good prices in a pleasant atmosphere. Next time I nave to transfer in the station, i shall make my way over to the Mercure bar….so much better, so much nicer. Excellent.
