Motel One was so much fun! It is now my preferred hotel in Edinburgh. I paid extra for a city view, worth it! Location close to tour bus stations, Waverley Station, Royal Mile, Grassmarket, Apple computer store on the ground floor of the hotel (upgrade your computer knowledge with an Apple specialist!) Hot breakfast, fast WiFi, European and UK outlets, proper vibes in common spaces as well.

The accommodation was very clean and the room was warm on our arrival. The staff were very helpful and friendly. In terms of price, it is excellent. We attended a concert and wanted somewhere to sleep. A basic self service breakfast was provided which was appreciated and easily kept us going till lunchtime.

We chose to spend two nights at the Corran because it seemed to offer a perfect loci for visiting all the stellar attractions in the immediate area and we were well rewarded. Can't comment on hosts because we never did meet anyone but it wasn't needed. The rooms were spacious with a very comfortable living area and could have easily accommodated more than just the two of us. The property itself was a gift being right on a Loch with incredible currents and vistas. The ferry service offered to cross to the restaurant / pub and a brewery across the Loch was so accessible and added a unique touch to the experience. We reserved for two night and would have wanted a third! Highly recommended.

Location is the biggest plus point for this motel. For people with mobility issues, it serves as a good place to come back to after a few hours, rest/recharge and then venture out again. Cleanliness and comfortable beds was another plus point.

Two standout features from Motel One: we flew into Scotland very early in the morning and were pretty tired by the time we got to the hotel around 8am. Reception recognised this and were able to let us have our room there and then. Superb service. Similarly, when we checked out, our flight was late at night and we were able to hold onto the room until 3pm on the day of checkout. A member of Motel One I was certainly impressed as the Glasgow outlet was also able to give us the room we alway request looking up Hope Street.

Spacious, clean comfortable room. Easy check in and out. Plenty of free parking, there was a disabled space right outside our accommodation. Good choice of continental breakfast, great value for money. Ideal stop off for our journey from Derby to Ullapool.
