Beautiful, elegant public and private spaces. Serene ambiance. Great amenities and onsens. We took a standard room and it was spacious, well-equipped and had gorgeous views. Plenty of spaces to store belongings in the room and bathroom. People were delightful, very welcoming, caring and helpful. Delicious food with lots of variety served on lovely dishes. Easy to get to local attractions. Exceeded our expectations

We LOVED this huge seaside hotel-- especially the cave onsen. It's got some of that Japan bubble aesthetic, as it was opened in 1956 and updated throughout Japan's boom times. Our room had an incredible view of the sea, and it was fun to just roam around the hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed here after the Kumano kodo. This place has the most amazing amenities! There is a private Onsen, washer and dryer, kitchen, and bikes! It is a 3 min walk to a bus stop. The owner who let us in is so kind and helpful.

We had a very relaxing stay here after a long and tiring day. The room had a beautiful view of the sea, which made it even more peaceful and enjoyable. Dinner was superb. The food was delicious and beautifully served in the traditional Japanese style, which made the experience feel extra special. We also appreciated the free coffee and juices available at the lounge throughout the stay. The complimentary late-night noodles were another nice touch and something we really enjoyed before calling it a night.

The location on a mountain side provided outstanding views of the ocean and sunrise. The multiple onsen baths were luxurious. The food was amazing.

TAOYA Nachikatsuura provides a public bath and free private parking, and is within 1.4 miles of Nachi Beach. This ryokan features an open-air bath and a terrace.

The place is just walking distance to the train station and the staff are so helpful with lots of recommendations for food, coffee & things to do in Katsuura. The sauna room is spacious and clean - a great way to end the Kumano Kodo
