What a gem! We arrived at Kawazu station and Kenji (?) was there to meet us. When we arrived at the property he took our bags up for us and explained all we needed to know. I think we had an upgrade because the room seemed bigger than the one I booked. The room hadn’t been made up yet as we arrived well before check in. We decided to go and do the 7 waterfalls walk and our host was so kind to drive us there. He explained how to get back on the bus and how much it would be. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We ended the afternoon by using the hot tub which was great. Bathroom and toilets were spotless. Outside the rooms there is boiling water, coffee making facilities, microwave and a wee stove and sink. There is also a sink for washing your face and cleaning your teeth. Be aware there is nowhere to eat close to the hotel. We were aware of this and brought food in with us. We found a tiny basic bakery just down the road and we bought a couple of flapjack type things for breakfast. This property is such good value and our host was kind and friendly. We have been in Japan for a month and this is one of our best stays. Loved it and would certainly recommend. Excellent value.

Nice location walking distance to restaurants and shops while being on the beachfront. The room had a beautiful view of the beach and an amazing sunrise. Very spacious and comfortable with yummy local snack to try on arrival. Plenty of parking available.

Travelled with two families (2x parents + 1 child, 2x parents + 2 children). Property owners answered my many (English) questions patiently. The facility had a wonderful atmosphere with the river running by it and a 7-11 conveniently nearby for meals if we had not managed to get any elsewhere. Easy to get down to Kawazu, Shimoda or up to Shuzenji if we wanted, provided you have a car. We loved the place and all hope to come back one day! Also note that to deliver luggage to this location, you have to be personally in the property when the luggage arrives since there is no reception. Since my party was out the whole day, I had luggage delivered to the Yamato Service Station in Shimoda instead which was a short drive away.

Absolutely loved this property because of how phenomenal the location was. We were right on the strip of the festival and the property was beautiful with a cherry tree right next to it. Very lovely living and hangout spaces and lots of windows for beautiful lighting. It had a very nice traditional vibe.

The location of the ryokan is nested the forest next to the Kawazu falls with the sound of the running river in the background, felt like we were part of this nature. We had the larger room with 2 washrooms, 2 outdoor onsen tubs, and one foot bath. Beverages and snacks were included, meals were fantastic. In their survey I gave them 11 out of 10 score. The most incredible experience and I will definitely recommend and return.

A beautiful home! I had a very relaxing stay with my family (with 2 kids), everyone enjoyed the house so much. We loved the Japanese tatami rooms and the onsen bath was amazing. It was a very nice touch that the home provided coffee and some basic items in the kitchen.

The apartment was really great. Cozy, comfortable and amazing amenities. The host was really kind and helpful too. Used the grill more than I thought we would, but It was really nice to get fresh food at the store and cook it up. Will definitely be back!
