It is situated next to the main road but hardly no traffic, easy to find and perfect when on the way to or from e.g. Cape Town, very kind and helpful staff, good food (dinner / breakfast) and a very nice atmosphere. - would certainly stay again

My stay at the Karoo Art Hotel felt like a home away from home! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and made me feel genuinely welcome. The hotel has a variety of charming spaces to relax in—whether soaking up the sun on the beautiful stoep, unwinding in the cosy bar, or admiring the exquisite art and stunning furniture arranged throughout. The food was simply outstanding! I enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant, and every meal was top-notch, thanks to the exceptional chef Derek Lowe. My room was spacious, spotless, and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the small balcony provided a breathtaking view. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely quiet family room for 3 which was perfect for us. We had a quick dip in the heated outdoor hot tub which was fun and an exquisite dinner at Mez karoo kitchen in Barrydale. Had a good sleep and were greeted by a friendly cat and dog in the morning.

The property had everything we needed and everything worked very well and we didn't have to look to find anything. The host communicated clearly and we had safe off-street parking. I was also very easy to find and easy to get into with the clear instructions.

The property was in a great location, quiet and really nice landscaping and and a big house big rooms and the great breakfast.

The cottage is lovely - the stone exterior is eye-catching, and the interior is cosy and stylish and very well-equipped. (Everything worked!) From the terrace, you have a panoramic view of orchards and mountains. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the abundant bird life.

It was on the outskirts of town. Sustainability is the goal.

Charming small room with a spacious bathroom. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, the property is surrounded by horses, chickens, and three delightful dogs that will warmly greet you and happily play with you. A fridge and kettle are provided for your convenience, perfect for making your morning coffee. Highly recommended for a peaceful and enjoyable stay!

Birdsong was our favorite accomodation during our South Africa trip. A comfortable and spacious cottage with all the comforts of home makes Birdsong a perfect place from which to explore Barrydale. The host was wonderful...ensuring we were happy at Birdsong and providing lots of great ideas for enjoying Barrydale.
