The women working the desk were very helpful. I wish they understood more English. Masaru-san was most helpful and and knowledgeable. The location was most convenient: near Ranzan restaurant for breakfast. Close to Togetsukyo bridge, 4 train stations. The coffee choices were excellent and oishii. The pastries were the appropriate size and oishii.

The room was quiet, I didn’t hear other guests through the walls or ceiling/floor. There was plenty of space in the room. The free hot dogs and night were wonderful. The staff was kind and helpful. The WiFi was fast. The shower was luxurious and the water temperature was stable.

The place is very peaceful and it gives us the feeling of the old and classic style of Japan. It is also very close to a train station which makes our transportation very convenient. The food is excellent and freshly served. Services are also excellent and the owners are very kind to us. We LOVED our stay here in Kyoto! Our family stayed for a week in this home and absolutely adored the neighborhood location and charm! The host is the sweetest woman and very responsive. We enjoyed wandering the streets and finding small shops and cafes tucked around every corner. The location is super-convenient to bus and metro lines as well as several grocery stores. At the end of our week here, our teenage kids were begging us not to leave, we all loved it so, so, much!

Open from 2016, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto features a Western-style restaurant and a tea house by a pond in Shakusuien Japanese garden as well as a lounge. Kyoto Station is a 7-minute drive away.
