Onetai is a special place. The setting in the NZ bush is both beautiful and exciting and the light features created by the host Steve are stunning.The house is very welcoming and comfortable with everything you could need for a nice stay, but the bonus upon bonuses is the host Steve. Steve is unassuming but packs a lot talent and skill in what he has created at Onetai but also as an exceptional host in every way. Nothing is too hard. We had an exceptional breakfast with superb coffee. The surrounding nature is accessible through a very cool trail and Steve also took us down his road to see Glow worms at night. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

We loved everything about our stay at Shunters. It felt so homely—warm, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. There were power plugs on each side of the bed, which was a thoughtful touch. I really enjoyed having a bath, and it was such a treat to stay in a 100-year-old historic rail cottage. I also enjoyed reading the folder with information about Waihi—it was interesting and added to the experience.

So glad we booked here. Even better than the photos. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for preparing a meal. Beds we're 10/10 comfy. Short walk to local shops. Highly recommend.
