Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Celorico de Basto

We chose Quinta Das Escomoeiras for the opportunity to stay at a working Portuguese vineyard and get a taste of life in rural Portugal. The property was just gorgeous! Beautiful landscaping, views and old world architecture. Fernando, our host, walked us around acres of his property, telling us about the grape vines, cherry and other fruit trees, his organic vegetable gardens and the importance of the river at the base of the hilly property. We tasted wines on the patio overlooking the lush gardens, pool and vineyard. Fernando, shared the history of the Quinta and how it came to be “Quinta Das Escomoeiras.” We felt like we were visiting with family.

House was fantastic. Just right for our needs. Quiet location and well appointed. We came during the off season so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space and wish we could. We made use of all the indoor amenities. Kitchen was one of the best stocked ones I've had in a holiday rental. We had elderly parents with us and the place suited them perfectly. They loved the single floor layout, privacy of their bedroom with attached bath, and well placed heating (and AC) units.

An excellent house with a stunning view, heating in every room, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. The house is very clean, cozy, and pleasant to be in. The hosts are incredibly responsive and communicative — they even came to help us on New Year’s Eve, which was especially appreciated. Check-in and check-out were easy and hassle-free.
