Places to Stay in Katsuura

Beautiful, elegant public and private spaces. Serene ambiance. Great amenities and onsens. We took a standard room and it was spacious, well-equipped and had gorgeous views. Plenty of spaces to store belongings in the room and bathroom. People were delightful, very welcoming, caring and helpful. Delicious food with lots of variety served on lovely dishes. Easy to get to local attractions. Exceeded our expectations

We had a very relaxing stay here after a long and tiring day. The room had a beautiful view of the sea, which made it even more peaceful and enjoyable. Dinner was superb. The food was delicious and beautifully served in the traditional Japanese style, which made the experience feel extra special. We also appreciated the free coffee and juices available at the lounge throughout the stay. The complimentary late-night noodles were another nice touch and something we really enjoyed before calling it a night.

Self Laundry service is great! Good view along the seaside. Nice breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay with our family. The staff were friendly and always ready to help, which made us feel very welcome. The hotel offers an authentic and traditional ryokan experience that we truly appreciated. We especially enjoyed the delicious traditional breakfast each morning. And we had a stunning view from our balcony—it made our stay even more memorable.

Place very clean location little far still ok

Best place you can rent to see the area, specially if you prefer apartments to hotels. The staff is very professional and kind, you cannot go wrong renting this place.

The apartment was so clean and beautiful! It has everything you need to enjoy a vacation. The kitchen was so big and well-equipped. I wish we could have stayed longer than one night. The owner was also so friendly and welcoming! I hope I can stay here again on my next trip!

The apartment was really big, the size of a normal apartment. Kitchen, living room, bedroom, bath, toilet. And had 3 beds. We didn’t see the owner so it was nice and private.

The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a kitchenette, tatami floor, a washing machine and a terrasse. The owner provided all the necessary information before arrival via messages.

We LOVED this huge seaside hotel-- especially the cave onsen. It's got some of that Japan bubble aesthetic, as it was opened in 1956 and updated throughout Japan's boom times. Our room had an incredible view of the sea, and it was fun to just roam around the hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Big space for us 2 people to stay Bedroom can hold 4 people I think, a good option for family trip I really want to come again for next hiking along Kumano Kudo The town is very quiet, a lot of tuna, though life remains in a convenient way. If you look for a quiet, clean place for stay, doing nothing, but relax and want Seaside view, Kii-Katsuura is a good place to go

The place is just walking distance to the train station and the staff are so helpful with lots of recommendations for food, coffee & things to do in Katsuura. The sauna room is spacious and clean - a great way to end the Kumano Kodo

We stayed at Maru House to be near Nachi Waterfall. Communication with the host was excellent and the house was clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Lawson and ramen shop nearby.

The guesthouse location is few minutes walk from the Kii katsuura train station, close to restaurants, and attractions. The guesthouse is beautiful, well organized, clean, lovely and welcoming place to stay. I really enjoyed my stay in the guesthouse and appreciate the kindness and generosity of the owner.

Centrally located near the train station and the tuna market. There is a large convenience store right across from it. The room is modern and clean and the bedding is comfortable. The hotel/hostel offers a communal space with a large kitchen and a sitting area. They also have a coin laundry. This is a great accommodation for a short stay. I booked it after my Kumano Kodo trip.

Great, comfortable stay. Quiet and right across from the train station. Enjoyed the onsen very much. Staff had recommendations for places to eat.
